Jessica volunteers her time to organize signature programs including HNBA’s
PODER25™ and the Speed Networking and Corporate Connections Program.
As Deputy Vice President of Programs, Jessica volunteers her time to organize signature programs including Poder25™, HNBA’s general counsel pipeline initiative and leadership training program and the Speed Networking and Corporate Connections Program, designed to promote meaningful business relationships between America’s leading corporate law departments and Hispanic legal professionals.
At Energizer, Jessica serves as Lead Counsel for the business categories that produce Energizer’s flagship batteries and lighting products globally. In this role, she supports all business functions providing legal guidance regarding marketing and advertising, consumer protection, product development, intellectual property, commercial contracts, compliance, and supply chain management, among other areas.
Prior to joining Energizer, Jessica was in private practice for over 10 years, most recently at Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, where she was a member of the intellectual property group and led the firm’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) practice.
Over the course of her career, Jessica built her reputation in the courtroom through jury trials and appeals, including complex and high-profile cases, but also gained a broad range of commercial experience supporting clients ranging in size and industry from local breweries to a Fortune 500 personal care corporation. Jessica’s accomplishments have been recognized by many professional organizations, including Best Lawyers® in America and Super Lawyers®.
Jessica is active in numerous local and national organizations that promote diversity in the legal profession. In addition to her work with HNBA, she is a past-president of the Hispanic Bar Association of St. Louis and a fellow with the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. She also volunteers for the Hispanic Educational, Cultural, and Scholarship Fund, raising funds for scholarships for Hispanic students, and for Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts, providing pro bono legal services to local artists.
Jessica holds a J.D. and LL.M in Intellectual Property and Technology Law from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.A. from Boston University.
