PODER25™ is the General Counsel talent pipeline initiative of the Hispanic National Bar Association and HNBA VIA Fund. As the national voice of the Hispanic legal community, the HNBA is uniquely positioned to develop Latino and Latina talent pools, expand their range of professional networks and partner with corporate leaders to increase Latino and Latina representation at the highest levels of their legal departments.
WELCOME
As National President of the HNBA, I am incredibly proud of the PODER25™ program which has brought together elite Hispanic in-house counsel across the country in our mission to increase diversity among General Counsel and C-Suite professionals.
The program was started in 2018 with a goal to increase the number of Hispanic General Counsel in Fortune 500 companies to 20 by the year 2025. Every year program participants continue to achieve significant internal promotions, upward moves with new companies and/or high-profile board appointments. We are well on our way towards achieving success.
The PODER25™ program is designed to provide in-house counsel with the tools and training to take the next step in their career and eventually rise to become General Counsel of a major company. The program includes recruiter introductions, dynamic speakers, and high-level mentorship and support. It also provides programming and coaching to increase participants’ gravitas, board-facing and team leadership, competencies, and overall readiness for top GC and senior executive roles.
Our new facilitator Angel Gomez and Julia A. López our Vice President of Programs – Su Carrera, are continuing to build on the great work of the PODER25™ program, providing a broad range of programming and implementing a robust vision for the future. We are especially grateful to all of those who worked so hard to make the PODER25™ program successful over the last year. MISSION
PODER25’s mission is to increase the number of Hispanic attorneys occupying senior positions within corporate legal departments by developing a pipeline of legal talent and assisting with their collective advancement. Our immediate goal is to increase the number of Hispanic General Counsel in Fortune 500 companies to a minimum of 20 by the year 2025.
